Sited in open country at at elevation of around 260 metres, le village est dominated to the west by the 360-metre Guckenberg, the last hill of the Plateau lorrain. It is one of the earliest villages of the Bitcherland. Le pink sandstone of the Vosges appears on the outskirts of the commune, but is mostly covered by forest.
