Robert F. Taft

Robert F. Taft, S.J. is a former Professor of Eastern Liturgy at the Pontifical Oriental Institute
in Rome. He has made numerous contributions to the history of Byzantine, Syriac (including the Malayalam tradition) and Armenian liturgy.
His magnum opus is A History of the Liturgy of St.John Chrysostom (6 vols., of which 4 have appeared), Rome, 1978-2000 (Orientalia Christiana Analecta, 200, 238, 261, 281).
Fr. Taft's work on their respective liturgies has earned him special recognition from the Ukrainian, Armenian, and Chaldean Catholic Churches.
