Early political career

Notte began his political career as an administrative representative for Senator Mickey Switalski.

Michigan State Representative

Notte was the representative for Michigan's 14th State District up until his election as mayor. The 14th district includes all of Sterling Heights and a large portion of Utica.

Mayoralty

Notte announced his candidacy for mayor of Sterling Heights in 1992. He won Sterling Heights' top seat in 1993 and has won every election since then.
