for a fee of 22 million euros. In the 2011 DFL- Supercup (which opposes the champion, which was Borussia Dortmund; and the cup winner, which was Schalke 04), Fährmann was the Man of the Match. After 90 minutes, the game finished 0–0 and it went on directly to a penalty shootout. Fährmann held two penalty kicks; one from Kevin Großkreutz
