R. N. Jayagopal was an Indian lyricist of the Kannada film industry who wrote over 12000 film songs.

Death

He died on 19 May 2008 at the age of 72 following a cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife Lalita Jayagopal, son Ravi (Prashanth) Jayagopal (an E-Business Architect in NY, USA), daughter-in-law Veena Prashanth, and grandchildren Rhea and Rohan.

He started the first school in Chennai to offer Kannada as a 2nd language - Vidya Vinaya Vinoda Mat. Hr. Sec. School.

Career

He also made his mark in the Tamil film industry with his well acclaimed roles in movies like Nayagan and Michael Madana Kamarajan.
