 registered on Sept 20, 2011. The party holds the position that BC needs a senate, but formed from a random selection of citizens similar to how a courtroom jury is formed. This senate would use mutual deliberation and consensus to approve, reject, or amend the legislation and policies devised by the elected members of the legislative assembly.

In effect, the People's Senate Party is the first party in North America to advocate the practice of sortition
