 the club operated as an independent club. Mounts Bay were promoted at the end of the 2007-08 season and competed in National Division Two in the 2008-09 season. However, in the Summer of 2009 the club folded citing financial problems and withdrew from the league structure altogether.

2006/07 Season

At season end Mounts Bay have had another very successful year. Mounts Bay are promoted to the National Leagues after finishing as champions of Southwest 1 with three games to play. The team has also reached two finals, the Cornwall County Cup where they played Redruth

2007/08 Season

In their first season in the National Leagues, Mounts Bay Rugby Football Club continues its meteoric rise through the Rugby league structure, finishing in 1st place in National Division Three South Mounts Bay are again promoted, their eighth promotion in nine seasons, and will be playing in National Division Two in the coming 2008/09 season. The club will be strengthening its team for this season, with a number of players joining the side with experience at this and higher levels. The side have new kit suppliers this season, joining with Irish company O'Neills, to make replica kit more widely available the club now have a shop in Penzance town centre. In addition to its league championship Mounts Bay also won the Cornwall Super Cup.

2008/09 Season

Mounts Bay faced their first and only relegation. Debts and few assets left the club in danger facing administration and a very uncertain future. Following their AGM in July 2009, the club folded after the possibility of playing sharing with Redruth RFC had finally broken down.
