, Mauricio Féres Yázbek was born in a family of Lebanese origin from which several famous photographers arose. It was his uncle Tufic Yázbek, a popular portrait artist of cinema stars, that introduced the young Mauricio to the world of Mexican filmmaking.

With the support of another uncle, the producer Jose Yázbek, he was included in the production of La muerte enamorada (the enamored death) (1950) a comedy starring Miroslava and Fernando Fernandez
