Story

"With one mistake, a young man's life is changed forever. What is this pride the young man has seized at the height of violence?"

A young man stands alone in the Kamuro District.
His name is Ukyô Tatsuya. Making a dangerous change in life after dropping out of high school, Tatsuya enters the Kamuro District, city of power and desires, and makes his living fighting in the streets.

One rainy day, he thinks up a daring plan to attack a Chinese loan shark and take his money. Breaking into the loan shark's office alone to take the money, Tatsuya finds Toda Naoki, the director of the Kuki Group, a family in the Tôjô Association of yakuza. Toda comes at Tatsuya, who lands a fierce punch. Drunk on victory, Tatsuya laughs proudly. Even a yakuza is no match for the young man.

Toda's blood started to spread over the floor. Tatsuya's destructive attack had taken Toda Naoki's life away…. Toda's body sprawled across the floor without so much as a twitch.

The young man didn't even notice.
He had crossed a line he shouldn't have….
He was being dragged into the dark side of the Kamuro District….

Features

Tag Match - Two on two team battles. The key here is in cooperating with your teammate to determine when you should focus your attacks on one opponent and when you should help your teammate out of a pinch. If you don't have four players available, you can make the CPU fill in the holes.

Dogeza Battle - A battle royal for 2 to 4 players. The first player to be defeated has to kneel down before the winning player, apparently suffering much embarrassment.

Team Battle - Two players create a team consisting of five thugs. The first team to accumulate three victories wins the match.

Sequel

A sequel named was announced for PSP by Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi in Weekly Famitsu.
