. At that time, the Journal merged the Bulletin of the Orthopaedic Section and the Bulletin of the Sports Medicine Section.

Initially published on a quarterly basis, JOSPT is now a monthly publication, distributed in print and online to APTA Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy Section members and 8,500 additional subscribers in the United States and around the world. According to the Journals website, in 2009 22,500 readers receive the print edition, and more than 25,000 read the online version. The Journal is indexed by PubMed/Medline and Cinahl.
