As of 2010, each spring, John F. Kennedy High School has put on a variety show, encompassing aspects of both the performing arts and a visual art display. The show is called, Kennedy Honors Excellence in the Arts, and is modeled after the Kennedy Center Honors event that takes place annually in New York. The show showcases the talents of the students in the areas of visual, vocal, instrumental, and acting performance. In addition, the show pays tribute to an individual who has greatly benefited the performing arts at JFK.
