Dr. James Carmichael Renick is an American
academic, and the former Chancellor of University of Michigan–Dearborn. Renick graduated from Central State University
with his Bachelors degree in 1970. He would then go on to receive a Masters degree from Kansas University in 1972, and a Doctorate from Florida State University
in 1980.
Renick was named Chancellor of University of Michigan–Dearborn in 1993, and he left that position to become President of North Carolina A & T State University in 1999. He stayed at that position until 2006, and then took a Vice President position at the American Council on Education
