 subjects as well. He was admitted to the A∴A∴ as a Probationer in 1979, and to full initiation as a Neophyte in 1981.

He was editor of, and a major contributor to, C.O.T.’s biannual journal, Black Pearl for its six-year run 1997-2002.

He served as president of the International Society for Astrological Research (ISAR) for two terms in the late 1970s.

During 13 years of membership (1979–1992) in Ordo Templi Orientis

 (O.T.O), he served in numerous capacities, including founder and initial lodge master of Baphomet Lodge in Los Angeles, a member of the Board of Directors, and Deputy Grand Master General.

He accepted ordination in the Gnostic Catholic Church in 1979 and celebrated the Mass for 11 years. He was consecrated a bishop in the Vilatte succession in 1985.

He was initiated into Fraternitas L.V.X. Occulta (Fraternity of the Hidden Light) in 1987. He later served as Grand Imperator of the Order, among other offices.

Mr. Eshelman is presently Chancellor of College of Thelema from which he received an M.A. in Skeptical Theurgy in 1990. He serves as Prolocutor General of Temple of Thelema, which he co-founded in 1987 with Anna-Kria King and Phyllis Seckler
