Jack Daniel's Single Barrel is a Tennessee Whiskey

For the Single Barrel, Jeff Arnett, master distiller, usually chose older barrels (4 years or more) from the upper reaches of the best lofts of the barrelhouse, where the temperature fluctuates significantly.
Single Barrel is bottled at a higher proof (47% ABV
) to keep the flavor intact in the bottle.
There are a number of different bottling of the Single Barrel line: regular, silver, commemoratives, sponsored or private casks. The commemorative bottles range consists of the Gold Series for 1904, 1905, 1913, 1914, 1915, 1954 and 1981 winners. As well as many other replicas or special bottles from different eras and moments of the distillery or of the location it is in (Lynchburg Tenn.). Great for the collectors

The color, nose and taste profile vary. The nose is usually sweet and fragrant with maple syrup, banana, spices and vanilla. On the palate, cinnamon, maple, rye cake and cherry cola as well as charcoal and wood notes are prevalent, with more vanilla or toffee noted by reviewers.
