Monahan then moved south to become the weekend forecaster and entertainment reporter for WPXT-TV in Portland, Maine
, before serving as the weekend meteorologist for NECN.
She attended the University of Maine
, from which she graduated with a B.A.
in Broadcast Journalism
. She also went on to graduate from Mississippi State University
's Broadcast Meteorology program.
Monahan is a member of the American Meteorological Society
and the National Weather Association
. In 2004, she was awarded the AMS Seal of Approval in recognition of her professionalism in weather forecasting and reporting. Monahan is now at WCVB in Boston MA
In April 2006, it was announced that Monahan was pregnant, due in October.
