gave the mixtape a rating of rating of 7.5/10 saying, "Higher Learnings Vol. 2 is a mixtape that is surprising, and yet it still turns out really good. Fashawn does a well job lyrically and vocally. Yet he is one of the most underrated rappers. Higher Learnings Vol.2 song content ranges from clever to consistently causious without seeming like he is forcing the issue. His flows fit well over the beats displayed. Not to forget that his flow also fits perfectly alongside J. Cole's. This mixtape shows Fash has talent and proves that he is gradurally transforming into a sell-able art. He proves he can be consistent and still rhyme. After listening to his mixtape I think its obvious that its time for Fashawn to venture into that mainstream market and do well. Is he slowly turning into a hip-hop mogul. If so this mixtape is sure to convince you.
