The Graduate Students' Association des étudiant.e.s diplôm.e.s (GSAÉD) is a students' union
providing services to and advocating on behalf of more than 4000 graduate students at the University of Ottawa
. Prior to 1989, when GSAÉD was incorporated as a separate not-for-profit organization, the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa
represented both undergraduate and graduate students.
GSAÉD operates a business on campus, the Café Nostalgica, which has been featured in the CheapEats Ottawa restaurant guide. It is also the organizer of an annual interdisciplinary conference, having invited over the years speakers such as Samantha Nutt, David Suzuki and Ralph Nader, whose keynote lectures attracted attention from the local media and community.
