History

Present Govt. Girls P. G. College was founded on Oct. 28, 1968 as a private college by M.P. Education Society. It was then Known as Arts and Home Science Girls College. The number of girls student at that time was about 20-25.

Above society carried on its work till 1997. After which this society handed over its administration to "Siksha Prasar Samiti". That continue its working from Oct 1977 to Sept. 1982, during these years the number of girls student was 150-200.

On 1st Oct. 1982 this college was undertaken by M.P. Government and it was declared as postgraduate college in the year 1996. Presently college has three faculties Art, Science and Home Science and about 720 girl students are regularly studying in this institution.

Aims and Objectives of the Institution

  • Provision of higher Education for girls in Arts, Science, Home Science & Music.
  • Computer Education to girls through "Project Gyanodaya."
  • Development of Social status and community feelings in the students by participating in NSS
