Allen served the College and University communities for more than 23 years, rising through the academic ranks to Professor of Education, Chairman of the Department of Education and Psychology

Allen had 2 children Christopher and Douglas. HE also had 4 grandchildren. Shawna, Jeffery, and Matthew (Christpoher) and Devin (Douglas).
Allen died in 1973.
