Fat'hi Abu Taleb is the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Jordanian military. He rose to become one of the most influential military men in Jordanian history. In addition to being a Field Marshal, he was also the head of the Jordanian General Intelligence Department (GID), as well as the Military Attache in the United States.

Abu Taleb is part of the upper house in the Jordanian Parliamentand is very close to king Abdullah II, as well as the late King Hussein.
