Eugenio Javier Hernández Flores (b. October 17, 1959 in Ciudad Victoria

) is a Mexican
politician affiliated to the Institutional Revolutionary Party
(PRI). He was mayor of Ciudad Victoria
from 2001 to 2004 and Governor of Tamaulipas
from 2004 to 2010.
Although dedicated to politics, Hernández Flores received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education

He was elected mayor of Ciudad Victoria
, the state capital. In 2004 he was elected governor of the state with 61% of the vote, he is married to Adriana González and has four children: Ana Roberta, Eugenio, Fabiola and Camila.

When the shootouts between drug cartels began at the beginning of 2010, Governor Hernández sensless said that there were not true and that the shootouts were irresponsible gossips coming from social networks, the answer of the peope of Tamaulipas was that "surely the bullets came from twitter and exited through computer screens".
After failing in his efforts for a presidential candidature, undergoing the death of his political candidate sucesor and leaving the state of Tamaulipas with a long-term direct debt of 7 851.1 million pesos, he was elected on Mai 2011 as Tecnical Secretary of the National Political Counsel from its own party PRI.
Much has been said about his incapacity of government and his connections with drug cartels, given the fact that when he took posession of charge on February 2005, Tamaulipas was scarcely related with criminality or armed groups, now it is one of the most dangerous places in Mexico. Entrepreneurs and society in Mexico demand the investigation and penalization of this mexican political character.
