They have been members of the Scottish Premier
Under-19 League since its foundation in 2001 (initially as the SPL under-18 League), and generally finish each season in mid-table, although they have finished as high as fifth (2006–07) and as low as bottom (2005–06). They play their home games at North End Park, which is also the home of Junior
side Dundee North End
. The team mainly consists of youth players at the club, with players over the age of 19 ineligible. Senior players occasionally play in the reserve side, for instance when they are recovering from injury.
The reserves manager is Peter Houston
