Programs and curriculum

The school is part of a district-wide program that offers students the opportunity to take additional classes on Saturday mornings.

Some of the electives offered include Spanish, Multi-Media, and journalism. The name of the school newspaper is called The Diegueno Sun. Art is also taught there.

For both the 1992-93 and the 1999-2000 school years, Diegueño Middle School was recognized with the Blue Ribbon Award
