History

The Dayton Children's Medical Center was founded in 1967 and was originally known as The Barney Children's Medical Center. In 1970, the hospital's name changed to be what it is today. Also that same year, Dayton Children's evolved into a 155-bed private, not-for-profit hospital for infants, children and adolescents. On February 1, 1980, The Ronald McDonald House was completed for the benefit of Dayton Children's patients and their families.
