Their partnership caused some controversy when Robinson was reported to have ordered several changes to be made to the movie before its theatrical release in July 2000. The studio countered by saying the cuts were made so the movie could obtain a potentially more profitable PG13 rating. This is probable as several cuts for violence were also made (most notably a bloody murder scene). The original uncut version was later released on an unrated DVD
