Nick returns from a work-related trip to find that he has lost his office to new CSI supervisor. Nick is still angered that Internal Affairs had removed Ray (who is said to be back in Baltimore, Maryland with Gloria) from being a CSI.

Nick's work ethics are questioned by Russell and his suggesting to a cop to go easy on a suspect has cause Catherine to loudly vent about her demotion and about the CSIs going rogue in Los Angeles. Their heated conversation was interrupted by DB's text for them to go to breakfast on him.

While DB isn't pleased with her, he doesn't pull her off the case and instead supervises her closely. After the case, DB sits with Sara and asks her out to dinner, as friends.

Reception

The character initially received mixed to negative reviews from viewers, after comments made from several fans of the show. Most of the fans complain that the character is "too humorous" for the show, and that he is nothing like Grissom

. They even say that Danson was a poor choice by CBS and that he must be removed from the show. Some critics, however, have given positive reviews for the character and Danson's portrayal of him.
