He is the president of three development companies and has organized, and has executed and supervised construction development projects valued at over $300 million. He is a leader in the finance, government and banking fields and was twice named Home Builder Multifamily Project of the Year. He has served as a board member and as treasurer of the Home Builders Puerto Rico chapter.
Cabrera has also had an active political career. From 1992 to 2004, he served as Executive Director of the Republican Party of Puerto Rico and led the Puerto Rico delegation to the Republican National Convention
in 2000. In 2004, he was a member of the U.S. Presidential Delegation at the inauguration of Martin Torrijos
