Bård Guldvik "Faust" Eithun (born: 21 April 1974) is a Norwegian
drummer. He is best known for his work with early black metal
band Emperor
, especially on the releases As the Shadows Rise
and In the Nightside Eclipse
. He also writes lyrics for other bands, including Zyklon
.

on 21 August 1992. The murder occurred near the park which eventually held the opening ceremonies of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games. Faust was sentenced to fourteen years imprisonment, but was released in 2003 after serving nine years and four months.
Some in the media speculated that the murder was related to black metal, satanism
or fascism
– Eithun later stated in an interview that "I was never a satanist or fascist in any way". Jørn Tunsberg of the band Hades Almighty
also claimed that the murder was "an impulse killing" and that "it had nothing to do with black metal". Kjetil Manheim
was a friend of Eithun at the time, and later remarked "the situation that Faust was in wasn't a good experience. He felt that he was attacked. He was in shock".
The verdict states that Andreassen, unarmed, approached Eithun in central Lillehammer and suggested they take a walk together. Eithun agreed, and followed Andreassen to the olympic park. Andreassens body was discovered the following day with 37 stab wounds and massive head injury as a result of being repeatedly kicked.
