Last 30 years have witnessed an exponential growth in clinical science, courtesy to advancement in cell biology, molecular sciences, biotechnology, computer science etc. There is a tremendous growth of sub-specialties and super-specialties. Stem cell transplantation and clinical haematology are good examples of this growth. So far, haematology has been a part of pathology laboratory; or in few hospitals a part of medicine or oncology. Example of success of Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Kidney Diseases encouraged us to set up a specialized Blood Diseases Centre. Its growth during last three years encouraged us to embark on to expand it into a full scale Institute of Health Sciences and Blood Diseases Centre. This centre has been the only centre of its kind in Pakistan. Our vision is to develop a 250 bedded Blood Diseases Center· where comprehensive care for blood diseases and related disorders will be available. Our mission at BDC remains, to give the unfortunate victims of blood and related diseases the gift of life by providing them high quality treatment·. At Bismillah Taqee Institute of Health Sciences & Blood Diseases Centre, state-of-the-art blood diseases centre provides care to patients suffering from blood disorders. Bone marrow transplant unit caters 100 patients per year. It gives me pride to lead the Pioneer Team of dedicated workers and an institution with clear vision and objectives. Where the patient„s care comes first.
