A world leader in the field of in vitro diagnostics for over 45 years, bioMérieux is present in more than 150 countries through 39 subsidiaries and a large network of distributors. Revenues are over €1 billion with 85% of sales outside of France.

bioMérieux provides diagnostic solutions (reagents, instruments, software) which determine the source of disease and contamination to improve patient health and ensure consumer safety. Their products are used for diagnosing infectious diseases and providing high medical value results for cardiovascular emergencies and cancer screening and monitoring. Alain Mérieux founded the company in 1963. Institut Mérieux, which belongs to the Mérieux family, is the main shareholder of bioMérieux. Institut Mérieux comprises the companies Silliker, Transgene and bioMérieux as well as ABL, Inc. and Mérieux Développement.
