Bernabé Rivera is a small town in the Artigas Department
of northern Uruguay
. It is located around 18 kilometres (11.2 mi) north of Route 30 and around 28 kilometres (17.4 mi) west-northwest of the city of Artigas
. It is situated south of the hill Cuchilla del Yacaré and north of the stream Arroyo Tres Cruces.
Its status became elevated to "Pueblo" (town) category on 26 May 1924 by decree Ley No. 7.720.
