 She debuted with the single "5 Minutes" from the "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?" soundtrack. The album's original lead single, "If You Wanna Dance" was later released that year but failed to chart. A music video for the track was released but quickly pulled as Elektra Records delayed the album.

The album was released on July 11, 2000 to positive reviews. Dan LeRoy of AllMusic gave the album 5/5 stars. He described Mo's voice and musical style in comparison towards Mary J. Blige
