History

The casino was opened in 1995 by Bally Entertainment Corporation. It was originally located at Mhoon Landing, the site of all of four of Tunica's original casinos (Splash Casino, Bally's, President Casino Southern Mist

 and Lady Luck). When larger casinos were built upriver closer to Memphis, Bally's closed and moved upriver — literally, as the casino barge was floated to a new berth in Robinsonville (now called Tunica Resorts

Bally's Tunica was eventually acquired by Park Place Entertainment which later became Caesars Entertainment. When Caesars was acquired by Harrah's Entertainment

in 2005, Bally's Tunica (along with Harrah's Tunica) was sold to Colony Capital to keep Harrah's from dominating the Tunica market with five casinos.
