Anna Geislerová aka Aňa Geislerová (born April 17, 1976, Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic
)) is a Czech
actress.
Anna became well known for her role as Eliška/Hana in the 2003 movie Želary
and as Anna in the 1999 movie Return of the Idiot
(Czech: Navrát idiota). A former model, Anna made her feature film debut at age 12.
's Requiem for a Doll in 1991. Since then, the country has followed her career closely, watching her metamorphose into the Czech Republic's most recognized celebrity on the small and silver screen. Her numerous acting credits include Academy Award winner Jan Svěrák
's Ride in 1994 as well as the film adaptation of Michal Viewegh
's internationally acclaimed novel Bringing up Girls in Bohemia (1997).
Anna has been nominated three times for a Czech Lion
(Czech Academy Award) winning twice; first for Best Actress in 1999 for her performance in Saša Gedeon
