On November 30, 2009, the Charlotte Bobcats assigned Ajinça to the Maine Red Claws, the NBA Developmental League affiliate. He was recalled on February 2, 2010.
On July 13, 2010, Ajinça was traded to the Dallas Mavericks along with Tyson Chandler
for Erick Dampier

, and cash consideration. On December 27 of 2010, Ajinca made his first three-pointer.
The Mavericks traded him to the Toronto Raptors
