Stacey served on the Park Lake Advisory Board and was selected as Chair of the Parks & Recreation committee his final year in office.

Stacey opposed two separate votes to allow the incinerator citing a cheaper method of compliance with federal regulations by transferring the small amount of waste generated by international flights to an out-of-state disposal site. Stacey also supported a plan to more than triple county park land through an acquisition paid for primarily through grant monies from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund.
