Early life and education

He was born in Thanjavur, on April 13, 1909 to Shri Yagappa Nadar and Shrimati Gnanammal. His elder brother was Shri Arulanandasamy Nadar. He did his schooling at St.Antony's High School, Thanjavur. He completed his pre-university course and graduated from St. Joseph's school in Tiruchirappalli. He was equally fond of sports and excelled in them.

Political work

He was also elected as an Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the year 1946. During this tenure, he was a member of the constituent assembly that helped formulate the Constitution of India. He was part of the transient assembly and legislature formed just before India attained its independence. Parisutha Nadar and Rev. Fr. Jerome D'Souza were part of the commission that was specially formed for "the protection of Minorities' rights" under the Indian Constitution.

As MLA for Thanjavur, he completed a project to provide drinking water to Thanjavur from Kollidam. Thanjavur's Bus Stand, now referred to as the Old Bus Stand, was also instituted during his term in office. A bicycle manufacturing plant was also begun on his initiative. This was part of his vision towards providing industrial infrastructure and colleges of higher education.

 leader M Karunanidhi on a difference of about 1000 votes. He also served as the Municipal Chairman of Thanjavur apart from his dedication to the Indian National Congress. His very close association with Sri Kamaraj Nadar and Sri Kakkan was on merits of his indisputable good performance, honesty and hard work which won him a status of an undisputed leader of the region.

  • He has visited several countries of the world including U.S., U.K., U.S.S.R., Germany, Japan, Egypt, Turkey, Israel, France and Japan.

Philanthropic services

Though his family hails from a minority group (Christian/Roman Catholic) of the Nadar community, they enjoy widespread goodwill for over four generations owing to charitable contributions made to the people of Thanjavur, especially the poor and the needy. His family has always been well regarded and respected by the people of Thanjavur for their contributions to all sections of society and selfless public service.

His brother-in-law P.A. Yagappa Nadar was the leader of the Congress Party in the erstwhile Thanjavur District Board during the 1950s. It is noteworthy to mention that Parisutha Nadar was among the main donors of lands of about 150 acre (0.607029 km²) now occupied by the Thanjavur Medical College, the New Bus Stand and the Raja Serfoji Government College. The family has donated land in many other prime locations towards public cause. Sri Arokiasamy Nadar as well as his brother Rao Bahadur Sri A.Y. Arulanandasamy Nadar also served as the Municipal Chairmen of Thanjavur.

Parisutha Nadar had also built and donated school buildings for more than six schools in the region. The family has donated many other prime lands towards public cause. A few examples are large stretches of lands donated to the Guild of Service orphanage home, to the Samiappa Co-operative Institute, to the Bhoodan movement

Agriculturist

Being a traditional agriculturist, he owned large tracts of agricultural lands cultivating paddy, banana, sugarcane and coconut. He was the first to introduce borewells in the region for irrigation. He was the first in the region to introduce mechanized systems in agriculture in the region.
