The 1957 Australian Drivers' Championship
was a CAMS
-sanctioned national motor racing title for drivers of Formula Libre
cars. It was the first time a motor racing title was contested over a series of motor racing events at Australian motor racing circuits. The title was contested over an eight-race series with the winner awarded the 1957 CAMS Gold Star.
The series was won by Victorian racer Lex Davison
, driving his Ferrari 625. Davison dominated the series, winning six of the eight races, including the season-opening 1957 Australian Grand Prix
to finish 21 points ahead of Tom Hawkes (Cooper
T23). The only other drivers to win races were Arnold Glass (HWM F2
) and Stan Jones
(Maserati 250F
).
