I've just started working on a 1925 double-button mic from Lifetime in Toledo. For your restoration, where did you find carbon to refill your WD buttons? Did you just take apart some telephone transmitters?
Also, I've been developing a little differential amplifier designed for double-button carbon mics to get the best possible sound out of them.
If you have any WD microphones you'd like to sell, please let me know.
Thanks!!

I too seek replacement carbon for microphones. Were you ever successful in locating a source? I need to create multiple homebrew telephone transmitters for a school project based on a 1930's book for "boys" projects. Using telephone microphone carbon is not practical.
Thanks!!
