A recent hike into the Watkins Glen Gorge along the Finger Lakes Trail revealed what appeared to be a mound of glacial rubble or gravel rising high above what I believe was Glen Creek. the trail then descned to Townsend creek which I think joins up with Glen Creek.
The gravel seemed inconsistent with the rock formations in the Gorge proper where the State park has its trails.
I do not undestand the geology of glen creek from thsi observation.
Can anyone provide more information?
