I have a large black walnut in my back yard, it gets a lot of sun in the afternoon. Nothing I have ever planted next to it has ever lived through more than 2 seasons, does anyone know what would work well, someone suggested black elderberrie, I like the way they look but I am gun shy...ps even a hydrangea failed and a rhody that was already there doesn't look to happy either.
