Why is starch not sweet like glucose when it is composed of thousands of glucose molecules?

Most likely because it has a difrent emperical formula, a diffrent structor, diffrent shape, diffrent amu, differnt volume and is not glucose. The logic in that is the same as why doesn't CH2O have the same function of C2H12O6.
