Very old and outdated. same with many of the ships that were built around the 2nd world war, or before. they out lived there usefulness.

Puget sound was only 29 years old when decommissoned it could have been used for something else it was made in 1967

Sorry, I forgot that they made a 2nd ship but a different Number. USS Puget Sound (AD-38) was a Samuel Gompers-class destroyer tender, the second ship of the United States Navy to bear the name Puget Sound.
