WWII began on Sept. 1,1939 when Nazi Germany invaded Poland as German Chancellor Adolph Hitler began a quest to undo the defeat of Germany in World War I. Invasions of Belgium, the Netherlands, France and other countries followed. France surrendered in July 1940, leaving Great Britain to fight on alone. The United States declared war on Germany the day after it was attacked by Japan at Pearl Harbor. The war then became one of attrition rather than the occupation of land, as was the case in WWI, although the occupation of islands in the pacific by the US was important to the extent that it gave bases from which bombers could fly over Japan. Japan had bombed the base at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, thinking that a quick knockout of the US fleet would cause the US to sue for peace. Japan's act was in reprisal for the US restricting its supply of oil.

GREED of Governments ; and WHO pays for it ? the Poor sons of farmers and shopkeepers are sent to die , while the Governments continue to smoke cigars, drive Mercedes and drink Whisky.
It is a FAILURE of Government if they have to send their people to die.
