Why did Mozart compose a mouvement with a third flute, ins this case, piccolo, when it easily could be played by the second flute. Both flute 1 and 2 are playing unisono in the same octave but a few bars with some chords.
Is it because the 2nd flute at that time wasn't able to play the piccolo or what could be the reason?
