In the early 1980's White Motors of Canton Ohio was reported as have having purchased an 80+ mile per gallon carburetor. The Canton Repository wrote several large front page stories on this acquisition. I personally remember these stories running for over a week. A White Motors spokesman proclaimed that this carburetor would spectacularly change their company. Does anyone else remember this event and what happened to this fantastic carburetor? White motors is a manufacturer of diesel engines. Ralph Moody was a former NASCAR driver and was owner of Ralph Moody Inc, a research company developing high mileage solutions for combustion engines.

The first story of this type was a carburetor that was developed in Canada and sold to Chevrolet. It was to revolutionize the industry but supposedly after the purchase of all rights and existing plans and carburetors the greatest vanish know to man occurred and the story died a slow death. The Ralph Moody story broke in 1980 and also fizzled out after a short life. There was no argument saying that these carburetors had or had not been developed by private engineers. In fact it is believed that they we an actual fact but the purchasing agents represented the petroleum companies and there was no desire on the part of anyone to do away with gas guzzling.
In 1974 Merle Runnelfson of Hayward California developed the first system to run cars and trucks on a mixture of water and gasoline and he also was approached by the oil industry and made a very acceptable offer for all his information. He accepted and now as many know there is more than one company marketing kits for this purpose. It works quite well.
