Operation Snowboy is from a paperback book titled Scramble by MaJOR Mario Cappelli. It is a fictional story about 29th FIS at Malmstrom. Takes place in early 50's.

My father was stationed at Malmstrom AFB in 1966-67 and worked in the SAGE building. As some former members of the 29th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron will recall, there were several scrambles during that era to chase "unknowns" that were tracked on radar as they maneuvered near and/or hovered above the missile sites.

My "UFO-Nukes Connection" press conference in Washington D.C. last September included the participation of seven former or retired USAF personnel who described UFO activity at the ICBM sites outside of Malmstrom and other SAC bases in the '60s and '70s. I have an informal 29th FIS patch created by a former squadron member which features an odd-looking creature seated in the cockpit of a fighter and the caption "The Land of Make Believe"--references to the "interesting" missions that some squadron members undertook back in the day. I was stationed with the 29th FIS 1954/1957 and heard about the book scramble a few years later, and have tried to find 1 ever since.A couple weeks ago I located 2.I got one but I
can tell you where the other is located if you are still interested.
