Replied to:  When was the gregorian telescope invented?
The first practical Gregorian telescope was described in 1663 by Scottish mathematician James Gregory in his book "Optica Promota".
Before James Gregory there were Niccolo Zucchi, Bonaventura Cavalieri and Marin Mersenne that described telescopes using mirrors but the merit of being the inventor of the first practical reflector goes to James Gregory.
John Hadley built the first Gregorian telescope in 1721 but the best gregorians were made by James Short and John Mudge.
