What would be the best method to prevent rhodonite oxidstion, apart from polishing? Why does some rodonite oxidise the surface in a matter of days, while other samples take years.

I am using some as a memorial stone about 15kg, and wish to preserve the colour without polishing it or covering it with that epoxy coating.

Any knowledge out there on this. Thanks. Peter.
