I suppose that depends on where you are at.
In my area (SE Nebraska-NE Kansas) we find a lot of Soux Quartzite carried down from the Dakotas. Minn. and Canada.
These are reddish colored rocks that range from small to huge. They are often called granite, but are really quartzite--finer grained and denser than most granites although they are a member of the granite family.
